From historical country homes to lavish luxury bespoke properties, the UK is one of the best places when it comes to owning the most elegant, most luxurious, homes on the market.
Whether you consider yourself new to investing in luxury property or see yourself as somewhat of an experienced investor, deciding on the location of your home can prove to be one of the most difficult decisions during the process.
Even if you’ve settled on wanting a home here in the UK, the decision as to where exactly to look for your next luxury home investment can still be a difficult one. If you aren’t sure where to begin your search, we’ve narrowed down four key UK destinations that offer stunning luxury homes nestled in gorgeous and exciting locations.
As the business centre and capital of England, London’s luxury property scene is legendary, with incredible homes appealing to both local and international buyers alike. Even with the continued troubles that Coronavirus has brought to the property market, the value of luxury homes, especially those in London, has proved resilient. In fact, August 2020 delivered the largest monthly increase in the price of luxury homes in five years.
Once you find yourself tempted by the idea of living in the capital, there are so many different locations within London to choose from. One of our personal favourites is the Kings Road, a major street in Chelsea, South West London, offering over 300 high-end shops and restaurants, and beloved of London’s elite.
It would take you a long while to sample all that the Kings Road has to offer, and that’s before you’ve even had the chance to explore all of its five unique districts. Art galleries, department stores, individual boutiques, farmers’ markets and more await, as you discover all the secrets and surprises they have to offer.
What more perfect way to experience the Kings Road than with your very own property situated just off of it? The Kings Road’s adjacent streets are lined with luxury homes from end to end, yet our Godfrey Street property still stands out, in a quiet street of multicoloured family homes. Built to the highest specifications, comprising a luxury bespoke kitchen, master suite with roof garden, whole-house automation and more, it’s the perfect place to return home to after a busy day enjoying the bohemian atmosphere of Chelsea.
If city life doesn’t appeal to you, you only need to travel just outside of the M25 to reach some of the most beautiful and quiet locations the UK has to offer.
Just under an hour’s drive south-east from London is the wealthy county of Surrey, well known for its abundance of greenery, woodlands and areas of wonderful natural beauty.
One of our favourite Surrey locations is the town of Oxshott, one of the first ‘green’ towns off of the A3 out of London. If green is what you are looking for, then Oxshott has lots of it to offer, with plenty of protected ancient woodland nearby. For those that long for the quiet life, Oxshott is one of the least densely populated towns in the UK – perfect for escaping the crowds.
After a long day spent in nature, where better to return to than your very own luxury property? Other well-known luxury properties in the area include ‘The Best House in Britain’, Kings Chase. With its stunning entrance hall, spacious layout and full-height sweeping staircase, it’s the best of what Oxshott has to offer. No wonder the area continues to be a popular location choice for investors.
Park Lane and Mayfair have long been hotspots when it comes to luxury homes – and for good reason. The homes you’ll find here are some of the most impressive you’ll find in the UK, and looking at them it’s easy to see why the world’s most elite are so keen to live here.
Located just off Park Lane, Aspire’s renovation of an historic property on Dunraven Street is the perfect example to demonstrate just why these luxury homes are some of the most impressive in the UK. It’s a stunning restoration of an apartment previously owned by the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen, which includes two private courtyards, a bespoke kitchen and a unique wine cellar. No surprise, then, that the property currently holds the record for highest £/sq ft achieved for a basement/1st floor flat in Mayfair.
And while your luxury home provides you with all you need and more, there’s still plenty of reasons to venture out to experience all that Park Lane and Mayfair have to offer. From an afternoon stroll through Hyde Park or an evening in one of the many Michelin-starred restaurants in the area, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Of the 26 towns in Surrey, another that has proven popular for luxury home buyers over the years is the town of Cobham. While slightly more populated than its neighbour Oxshott, Cobham boasts several green areas of its own, all of which are situated along the nearby River Mole.
While the town is popular with celebrities (Hollywood actor Antonio Banderas currently lives here), it has also proved a popular location for families with young children due to the abundance of primary and private schools in the area. And when the family wants to eat out for a meal in the evening, you can’t go wrong with a visit to The Ivy.
But what of the homes themselves? Due to the town’s natural surroundings, open-plan living and large gardens go hand-in-hand with living here, allowing for great views of the surrounding countryside. Invest in an outdoor infinity pool, like the one seen at our Eaton Park property, and you’ll be living the life of luxury in no time. And if you include a fully kitted-out games room in your home, you can kick back and relax inside if the weather takes a turn for the worse.
Even after settling on a location, the process of crafting the luxury home of your dreams can prove to be a long one. At Aspire Luxury Properties, we work with you every step of the journey to ensure your home is perfect throughout – taking on the strain so that you don’t have to.
